About the Course: International Baccalaureate The IB Diploma Program is a challenging two-year curriculum for high school students. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers four high quality international education programmes to more than one million students in 146 countries. Juniors and seniors take six courses in the following subject groups: language; second language; experimental sciences; the arts; math and computer science; and individuals and societies. IB students also engage in three core requirements: an extended essay (4,000 words); theory of knowledge (interdisciplinary course); and creativity, action, service (community service). The IB Diploma Program helps you develop critical-thinking, independent learning, and research skills. IB courses aren’t about reciting facts and figures – the IB Diploma Program helps you learn how to learn, and appreciate the process.

 

Course Details

The Primary Years Program [Kindergarten to Class 5]. Emphasizes on a holistic growth of the child during his/her development years Seeks to create an engaging and challenging educational framework for children. Focuses on 5 key elements: Concepts Knowledge Skills Attitudes Action
The Middle Years Program [Class 6 to Class 10]. This program aids students develop their knowledge and skills Focuses on five areas of interaction: Approaches to learning Community and Service Human Ingenuity Environment and Health Social education Offers a model of assessment, which determines the student’s results by comparing their performance against set standards.
The Diploma Program [Class 11 to Class 12]. Includes six subject groups Three core requirements in addition to passing the subject group exams: Extended Essay Theory of Knowledge & Creativity Action and Service. Students are assessed in 2 ways: Internally- by teachers through oral exercises, presentations and performances and Externally – through extended essays, literature assignments, etc.
Group 1: Language – More than 80 languages have been offered as a language A1, with 45 being readily available for examination at both SL and HL Group 2: 2nd Language – nearly 80 additional languages offered and may be studied at the following levels: A2 (SL or HL), B (SL or HL), or ab initio (SL only). Group 3: Individuals and Societies – of nine courses offered at both the Standard level (SL) and Higher level (HL): Business and management, Economics, Geography, History, Information Technology in a Global Society, etc. Group 4: Experimental Sciences – five courses, four of which are offered at both the Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) and one offered at SL only: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Design Technology, and Environmental Systems SL. Group 5: Mathematics and Computer Sciences – consist of four different mathematics courses and two computer science courses.
